It's a frog, but not just a frog


I moved a rock and found this very young leapord frog, then noticed he had hopped right next to his friend, Mr. Toad. The toad was about one inch long. The frog a little bit longer as you can see.

Purple Plant, Perilla frutescens



This plant was on a sandbar in the creek. Beefsteak Leaf, Beefsteak Plant, Chinese Basil, Wild Sesame. Originally from China. Perilla crispa, Perilla nankinensis, Ocimum frutescens and Ocimum crispum.

This was on the underside of a fallen tree that leaning over the creek.

A large group of this is in the creek right in front of my house. Not endangered here, but it is in CT and RI.

A tiny purple white flower, located on a rocky bar that juts into the creek and is often underwater.

Alisma triviale Or Northern Water Plantain Update 2




I took these pictures today around noon. The large plants are blooming, and I have noticed a whole new crop of little baby plants.
