Carolina Wren nest

Josh, our 2-1/2 year old son pointed out that a bird was outside. He had found that a baby bird had fallen or was pushed out of it's nest. I put it back in. And then it happened again... and again. I read on the internet that you should warm the baby up so mom doesn't push it out. I called my friend Tina for advice. I didn't know what was going on. I thought maybe the nest was too small, or there was something wrong with one of the chics. It turned out that the nest was too small or the design was just too much of a slide, for I hooked up a towel underneath to support it and they are doing great.

Carolina Wren

This little guy literally came to my door as I was uploading his photo! His nest is underneath our garage apartment porch.

Here you see the Carolina wren at the top of the bowl with a Dark eyed Junco behind it, and a Tufted titmouse at the base of the bowl, with his wings fluttering. This photo was taken at 9:24 am on Saturday December 30, 2006. It is currently 42 degrees out.
